The m/1923 uniform was developed for use by the land forces of the Swedish military. It was designed after World War One with the ambitious goal of creating a uniform more well suited for an trench warfare doctrine, replacing the obsolete m/1910 uniform. Unfortunately, due to political and military funding complications in the mid to late 1920s, the m/1923 failed to fully replace the m/1910 uniform. The m/1923 was used throughout the interwar years and into the Second World War, eventually being succeeded by the m/1923-37 uniform and the m/1939 uniform.
