History
the m/1958 uniform emerged as a finalized design from the 1955-1958 uniform trials, as well as earlier ones. Its design was likely intended to harmonize with the Swedish Stridssele/S webbing, also developed during the 1955-1958 trials, which featured two large chest pouches. This explains the m/1958's lack of chest pockets. Initially, the m/1958 was meant to be Sweden's primary year-round combat uniform. However, in late 1958, a cotton version was created. After testing, this became the m/1959, which served as Sweden's most common uniform throughout the Cold War.
